There are multiple ways to get around the city, our recommendations can be found below:
Bike: Why not experience Amsterdam like the locals? You can rent a bike at the reception for free, based on availability.
Ferry: Looking to take a touristy route? At the Pontsteiger (that big white building east of BOAT&CO) two ferry lines depart and arrive. Ferry line 900 operates between the Pontsteiger and Distelweg (Amsterdam North). Line 905 is the night line that ope-rates on weekends, from Amsterdam Central Station to the Pontsteiger and on to NDSM. From BOAT&CO, it’s a 15-minute walk to the Pontsteiger.
Bus: From the Houthavens, bus 22 takes you to the east side of Amsterdam. Get on at the Spaarndammerstraat bus stop. This bus goes via Haarlemmerplein, Amsterdam Central Station, Funen, Cruquius Eiland and the Indische Buurt to Amsterdam Muiderpoort Station. Bus 48 goes via Kattenburg, Java Eiland and KNSM Eiland to Borneo Eiland.
Tram: Tram line 3 takes you from the Zoutkeets-gracht via Haarlemmerplein, Museumplein, De Pijp, Wibautstraat, Oosterpark and Amsterdam Muiderpoort Station to Flevopark.
If you are travelling with public transport, the app called "9292" is very helpfull. You can fill in your start and end location, and the app will tell you the fastest way to get there!
Try to avoid going by car as it is very difficult to find a parking space and also very expensive!
